Event Type: Staff Incentive
Client: Corporate
Venue: Salisbury Plain
Duration: 4 hours (daytime event)
Numbers: 20 guests

Our brief was to provide a client with an adventurous staff incentive for late November, based outdoors and in Britain. As this was a reward event we felt it important that clients were kept warm and comfortable. To make this an adventurous experience we decided to use the inaccessible and extensive green lane byways that criss-cross Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. We knew that things would be slippery in November and hired the most experienced instructors in the UK and a variety of modern and traditional Landrovers for a varied experience.
Guests were unaware of what to expect. After their morning meeting and lunch, the Landrovers rolled into the company HQ. The group of 20 were split into smaller teams and each team was assigned a Landrover, a professional instructor and tailored map of the area. There were various checkpoints on the map and it was down to the guests to plan their routes and decide on who should drive which stage.
Salisbury Plain was an excellent location for this event. The tracks are used by the military and are well-rutted and very challenging. This tested the driving skills of participants and pushed the vehicles to the limits that they are designed for. The guests were engineers and were keen to learn about the technology behind the vehicles.
At some checkpoints, there were some ground-based challenges which had to be completed before guests were allowed to move on. Each team was scored depending upon their performance. The event became a race against the limited winter daylight and teams arrived at their hotel for prize giving in the dark.
“Thank you so much for what proved to be a fantastic event for everybody – they LOVED it. They came back buzzing and all the feedback has been excellent. Thanks for pulling it together, for making it all so easy”
