Event Type: Family Festival
Client: Corporate Law Firm
Venue: Private School, Essex
Duration: 4 hours (weekend daytime event)
Numbers: 500 guests
This event was staged to thank staff and their families for all the hard work they put in to help run a successful law firm. The event was free to all guests and was staged within the grounds of a private school in the catchment area of the majority of staff. The event was designed to have a family festival atmosphere.
A large central arena was created using posts, festival flags and white rope on the playing fields of a private school. A colourful, central Big Top was used to house a bar and main stage. Event infrastructure included toilets, power, first aid, sound and lighting systems and a team of 20 hard-working event crew.
The sporting element of the event was fun and light-hearted consisting of quirky games including tug of war, dwile flonking, crazy kitchen, welly wanging and jousting. Families entered the competitions by submitting a team and knock-out tournaments took place in the arena.
Non competitive elements of the day included a craft and inflatable area for the children which included face painting and arts. For those adults who wished to relax and be pampered, a ‘zen zone’ was provided underneath a canvas tent, a place where guests could receive treatments including Indian head massage, foot massage or psychic readings. This proved to be very popular.
Live music was provided by the superbly energetic band, ‘Sheelanagig’ who played foot stomping Eastern European folk. The festival vibe was completed by street performers who entertained the crowds. The in-house event catering team at Escapade Events fed the crowds with a delicious, wholesome BBQ and the bar served a wide selection of real ales, lagers, wines and spirits.
