Event Type: Garden Party (50th Birthday Party)
Client: Private
Venue: Private House
Duration: 8 hours (evening event)
Numbers: 150 guests
Our brief was to organise every element of a 50th Birthday party. Our clients wanted a mixture of glitz whilst keep a rustic edge to the occasion. The garden was a good size yet had many trees, flower beds and garden features throughout. We provided a white canvas marquee that was shaped around these features allowing some of the flowers and shrubs to be situated within the tent. We used a tent with a clear canopy over the chill-out section to enhance the feeling of being outdoors. The ceiling was lit with a canopy of fairy lights and coloured LED’s provided the additional ambient lighting.

The client didn’t want a formal occasion so food was mainly tray served throughout the night with wave after wave of delicious, good sized canapes delivered to the guests, thus enhancing the flow of the evening allowing guests to stand around, chat and socialise whilst eating at the same time. There were two bars, one cocktail bar with ‘flair’ cocktail bartenders providing some drama to the evening and another bar serving the essential other drinks for a 50th birthday party.
The live, four-piece covers band got the dance floor bouncing towards the end of the evening as the party entered it’s wilder phase. Guests that wanted space to talk and catch-up were able to head outside and sit around the outdoor fire pit. A separate dining tent was provided for those that preferred to eat away from the main event bustle. Other behind the scenes infrastructure that we provided included power logistics, heating, bar staff, catering staff, furniture, sound system, toilets and complete event management. The client had the reassurance of an on-site event manager so that she could kick back and enjoy the evening with her guests allowing us to manage the logistics and trouble-shoot behind the scenes.
This event took about six months to plan from initial meeting and site visit through to the delivery of the event. Several meetings were held during this period to make decisions about furniture, overall look, layout, menus, and the format of the evening. Yes, it turned out to be a dry, warm evening but there was plenty of shelter had the weather turned and plenty of heat on standby had the weather turned chilly.
“A very big thank you to Sally, Will, Lloyd and all the team at Escapade for making my 50th a night to remember – what a party!! The last guests left at 4am and no-one wanted to leave – that has to be the sign of an amazing night!!” – Rom Brown
