As the last of the snow melts away and a feeling of spring is in the air, you may now be turning your attention to the summer months and possibly making plans for this year’s summer event and celebration. Now is absolutely the time to think about putting those plans into action!
Here we have put together a sample of the top five summer events we have organised recently to help inspire you to plan something special in 2018.
1. COASTAL ADVENTURE IN SOMERSET
There is nothing more refreshing than spending a day breathing in fresh sea air (‘vitamin sea’ we like to call it!) Last year the National Trust kindly hired us a spot of land jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. We used this beautiful location to run a team building/away day for 200 guests. Activities included sea kayaking, power boating, mountain boarding, stone balancing and the whole group were involved in creating a giant sand sculpture. The location was out of this world and only 45 minutes from the company HQ in the centre of Bristol….<more>
2. FAMILY FESTIVAL IN WILTSHIRE
When a Chippenham-based client informed us that they wanted to throw a celebration event for 1000 staff and their families, we sourced a venue in open parkland belonging to a school. The event had a vibrant festival feel with fairground, live music, a zen zone, arena entertainment, tree climbing and whacky country-themed games and activities to suit all ages. Rewarding the entire workforce and their families is an excellent way of showing appreciation and enhancing your reputation as a great employer….<more>
On this occasion we hired a stretch of land running adjacent to the River Wye. Teams explored the landscape by kayaking down the river, scaling the rock faces of Symonds Yat and picnicking in a jaw dropping location. The aim was to take employees out of the office for the day, giving them the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other’s company in a stunning location….<more>
The owners of a recruitment agency threw a private party in the garden of their home for staff, partners and their top clients. A white stretch tent provided an elegant canopy over the flowerbeds and swimming pool. Guests sat around open fire pits and wined and dined on food and drink that was brought to them regularly throughout the evening. This style of catering kept the evening informal. An Ibiza-style DJ fired up the decks as the sun went down and midnight was marked with a surprise firework display….<more>
5. WALKING ADVENTURE IN THE MENDIP HILLS
Whilst being simple in concept, a mass walk across spectacular British terrain involving fresh air and problem solving creates a powerful team building event. As the 8 mile route unfolded, activities were provided along the way which took the teams into caves, traversing along high wires and culminated in an axe throwing competition. The completion of the walk was marked by a wholesome BBQ served in the town of Cheddar….<more>
