Event Type: Garden Party (30th Wedding Anniversary)
Venue: Private House
Duration: 6 hours (afternoon/evening event)
Numbers: 150 guests
Our brief was to organise every element of a Pearl wedding anniversary. Where to start?
We were fortunate enough to be working within the grounds of a beautiful country house which is always the perfect back drop for any event. However, working within a well established garden limited our options for marquee placement. We had to build the tent structure around a number of trees and concluded that the best option would be to make a feature of them within the marquee itself. This looked particularly effective at night, adorned with fairy lights.
Food was served in two stages. During the late afternoon, a variety of delicious canapes were served fresh from the BBQ with the evening meal consisting of local, organic lamb cooked on site along with tasty beef burgers and sausages from the local butcher. A selection of fresh salads and vegetarian/vegan options were also available. The traditional ice-cream bike was a novel way of keeping everyone cool along with a dedicated gin bar.
Decorations were simple with a pearl theme. White roses and lillies were the natural choice for flowers, filling the air with an aromatic, floral scent. Festoon lighting was used throughout the marquee and grounds, lighting up walkways while subtle uplighters highlighted the numerous trees. Picnic tables and parasols provided much needed shade in the 30 degree heat!
Live music from The Shadow Monkeys rocked the marquee for an incredible two hour set, playing everyone’s favourites and raising the entire party to their feet. A close-up magician wowed guests with card and rubix cube tricks.
“Thank you so much. It was the best party we have ever thrown and the best we have ever been to” – Luanne Cullinane
